Biography: Dr. Ibrahim Sadiq is an associate Professor and Director of the Research Centre for Genocide, Gender, and Social Research at Soran University. His research focuses on genocide, displacement, social violence, human rights, extremism, nation-building, and identity in the Middle East. Dr. Sadiq has taught at various universities including to Soran University, Koya University, Salahaddin University, and Tishk University. He is the author of Origins of the Kurdish Genocide (2022), and has published in Kurdish, Arabic, and English. Dr. Sadiq completed his PhD at Brunel University and postdoctoral work at Coventry University. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Disappearance Studies (University of Bristol), Member of the Editorial Board for Aran Journal of Language and Humanities and E.B.M. of the Lahai Journal for Genocide Cases (LOGC). He is fellow of the Norbert Elias Foundation (Amsterdam) and also affiliated with iReMMO (Paris). Fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, English, and Dutch, he is engaged in regional and international research projects on violence, human rights, and cultural transformation.
