Biography: I am a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Arts. I received my Master’s degree in Social Psychology from Salahaddin University 2008–Erbil, and earned my PhD from the same university 2013. I currently chair the Scientific Promotions Committee at the Faculty of Arts. My research interests include religion and its influence on social behavior and relationships, as well as issues related to gender, culture, genocide, national identity, and belonging. I examine how belief systems intersect with identity and power within contemporary social structures.
