Biography: Professor Mazin Sherzad Othman (born April 8, 1978) is a physicist and professor of condensed matter physics at the Faculty of Education, Soran University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He earned his BSc in Physics from Salahaddin University in Erbil (2001), his MSc in Atomic and Molecular Physics in Ankara (2004), and his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from Gazi University, Turkey (2009). His research focuses on nanomaterials, thin films, semiconductors, and the electronic, optical, and elastic properties of advanced materials, with expertise in computational methods such as density functional theory and ab initio simulations. He has also worked on vibrational spectroscopy (Raman and infrared) and was a member of the Turkish Accelerator IR FEL project from 2006 to 2009. Today, he continues to contribute to research and teaching in material science and computational physics at Soran University.
